Calculating Sling Leg Length

Two Leg Bridle

2 SLING BRIDLE REQUIRED SLING LENGTH
2 Sling Bridle Required Sling Length
This calculator is used when the distance between the only 2 rigging attachment points on the load, the amount of room available or desired between the load and lifting device, and the weight of the load are measurable/selected values.

Do NOT use sling if angle is less than 30 degrees.

Three Leg Bridle

3 SLING BRIDLE REQUIRED SLING LENGTH
3 Sling Bridle Required Sling Length
This calculator is used when 3 slings will be attached to a load with 3 equally spaced attachment points that are all an equal distance from the centre of gravity and an ideal sling angle is selected.

Four Leg Bridle

4 SLING BRIDLE REQUIRED SLING LENGTH
4 Sling Bridle Required Sling Length
This calculator is used where 4 slings will be attached to a load that has 4 attachment points that are equal distances from the load's Centre of Gravity. The distance between the attachment points that run along the load, the distance between the attachment points that run across the load, and the load weight must be known values, and a desired sling angle must be selected.

Two Leg Bridle – Asymmetrical

2 SLING BRIDLE WITH SYMMETRICAL OR ASYMMETRICAL CENTRE OF GRAVITY (COG)
2 Sling Bridle with Symmetrical or Asymmetrical Centre og Gravity (COG)
Location of Centre of Gravity(CoG) and its distance from each pick point must be known. User must decide between placing adjustable rigging or a fixed length sling/hardware to the pick point nearest the Centre of Gravity. Rigging closest to the CoG will always bear the greatest share of the load weight.
This calculator is for the case when adjustable rigging is closest to CoG.

Two Leg Bridle – Asymmetrical – Fixed

2 SLING BRIDLE WITH SYMMETRICAL OR ASYMMETRICAL CENTRE OF GRAVITY (COG)
2 Sling Bridle with Symmetrical or Asymmetrical Centre of Gravity (COG)
Location of Centre of Gravity(CoG) and its distance from each pick point must be known. User must decide between placing adjustable rigging or a fixed length sling/hardware to the pick point nearest the Centre of Gravity. Rigging closest to the CoG will always bear the greatest share of the load weight.
This calculator is for the case when fixed length sling is closest to CoG.
